The current situation

Policy, research, and voluntary health organizations face many challenges as they develop guidelines, design care management protocols, and make other health-related policy recommendations. The questions they address can be extraordinarily complex, involving a multitude of factors, populations, and settings. Because new policies can have far-ranging effects, it is critical to quantify their clinical and economic impact.

Clinical trials and other empirical methods can answer some of the questions about specific interventions, but the cost, time, and resources required to conduct clinical trials and the sheer number of options that need to be analyzed make this approach unfeasible for most questions.

The Archimedes advantage

The Archimedes Model is a large-scale, well-validated simulation model of human physiology, diseases, behaviors, interventions, and healthcare systems. It gives users the ability to quantify the health and economic outcomes of their policy recommendations.

The Model is built to operate at the same level of detail at which healthcare policies are set. Furthermore, because it is a single integrated model that uses a consistent methodology, it is ideally suited to answer policy questions that span across a range of conditions and interventions.

How you can use the Archimedes Model

Cardio-Metabolic Risk (CMR) Forecast Dataset. The CMR forecast dataset includes data from 19 simulated trials that addressed 20 interventions for cardio-metabolic risk in U.S. patients. A free 7-day evaluation subscription is available to determine if your questions have been anticipated in the CMR dataset. More...

ARCHeS Innovator. ARCHeS Innovator is a comprehensive web-based tool that gives you direct access to much of the power of the Archimedes Model. It enables you to set up multi-scenario studies and run custom health economics and outcomes analyses and examine conditions, treatments, and outcomes related to coronary artery disease, stroke, diabetes and its complications, obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and smoking. It can also be used to create new or hypothetical treatments, either bt drawing from the results of phase 2 clinical trials or by specifying effects on biomarkers and/or health outcomes. More...

Modeling & Consulting Services. Archimedes provides comprehensive support to build custom disease models, or to run custom simulations, including asthma and cancer related simulations. Our team of scientists and physicians will work with you to quantify the clinical and economic impact of the interventions, diseases and populations you are interested in, and to analyze and interpret the data.
